Glossary.
Plain-English definitions for the terms that come up in The Wiz Journal — SEO, GEO, schema.org, MyInvois, BNI, and the rest.
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
Structuring website content so AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude cite, reference, or recommend it in generated answers.
Generative Engine Optimization is the 2024+ discipline of writing and structuring content so that AI engines surface it as a citation or recommendation. The term was formalised in a 2024 Princeton paper (Aggarwal et al., KDD 2024) which tested nine optimization methods across 10,000 queries; statistics addition, citation of sources, and quotation addition produced the strongest visibility gains.
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
The traditional discipline of structuring a website to rank in search engines like Google and Bing.
SEO covers technical performance, on-page content, structured data, internal linking, and earned authority signals (backlinks). For Malaysian SMEs in 2026, SEO remains foundational — Google still drives the majority of search traffic for service businesses — but is increasingly paired with GEO for AI-search visibility.
- Schema.org
A shared vocabulary of structured-data types (Organization, Product, Article, FAQPage, etc.) that search engines and AI systems use to understand website content.
Schema.org is jointly maintained by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex. Its vocabulary is implemented on websites using JSON-LD or microdata. Every Wiz Studio Labs site ships with the major schema types pre-configured: Organization, WebSite, Article, Service, Offer, FAQPage, HowTo, BreadcrumbList.
- JSON-LD
JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data — the recommended way to embed schema.org structured data in a webpage.
JSON-LD is added in a <script type='application/ld+json'> tag in the page head. Google explicitly recommends JSON-LD over older formats (microdata, RDFa) because it is easier to maintain and does not affect the visible content. AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity) read JSON-LD aggressively when forming citations.
- llms.txt
A proposed open standard for a brief, AI-readable Markdown summary of a website. Sits at /llms.txt at the site root.
Proposed in 2024 by Jeremy Howard (Answer.AI), llms.txt is a single Markdown file that gives AI crawlers a high-signal brief about the site: what it is, what it sells, how to cite it. As of Q1 2026 no major LLM provider has officially committed to consuming llms.txt, but adoption has reached ~10% of domains and Anthropic publishes one for its own site. Wiz Studio Labs publishes both /llms.txt (brief) and /llms-full.txt (full content dump).
- MyInvois (LHDN e-invoicing)
Malaysia's mandatory e-invoicing system, rolled out by LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri / Inland Revenue Board) from 2024 onwards.
MyInvois requires Malaysian businesses to issue and validate invoices through LHDN's e-invoicing platform. Phased rollout: businesses above RM 100M revenue from August 2024, RM 25-100M from January 2025, all others (including SMEs) from July 2025. Every Wiz Studio Labs invoice is MyInvois-compliant by default.
- BNI (Business Network International)
A global referral-marketing organisation where local chapters meet weekly to pass qualified leads between members.
BNI Malaysia has 100+ active chapters across Klang Valley, Penang, Johor, and East Malaysia. Each chapter holds exclusive classifications (only one accountant, one lawyer, one logistics operator per chapter). Wiz Studio Labs has built websites for 30+ BNI Malaysia members. The Wiz founder, Dan Duar, holds the Logistics classification at the BNI Integrity Shah Alam chapter (representing DNE Forwarding).
- FIATA
International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations — the global trade body for freight forwarders.
FIATA standardises freight forwarding documents (FIATA Bill of Lading, FCR, FCT) and provides industry certifications. Membership through national associations; Malaysian forwarders join via Selangor Freight Forwarders Association (SFFA) or Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF).
- JKDM (Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia)
Royal Malaysian Customs Department — the agency that administers customs duty, import controls, SST, and excise.
JKDM licenses customs agents (a regulatory requirement for filing import declarations). Forms commonly referenced: K1 (import declaration), K2 (export declaration), K8 (transhipment), K9 (warehouse-to-warehouse). DNE Forwarding holds an active JKDM customs broker licence.
- .com.my (Malaysian domain)
The Malaysian country-code commercial subdomain, managed by MYNIC.
.com.my requires a registered Malaysian business (SSM-registered Sdn Bhd, sole proprietorship, or partnership) to register. Annual renewal: RM 50-100 through MY-based registrars (Exabytes, Webserver, IP ServerOne). Generally a positive trust signal for Malaysian buyers, but adds friction to international audiences.
- Generative AI / LLM (Large Language Model)
AI systems trained on large text corpora that generate human-like responses to prompts — e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity.
The four major Western LLMs as of 2026: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), and Perplexity (which composes answers using its own retrieval layer over the open web). Each cites sources differently — ChatGPT favours Wikipedia (~48% of top citations), Perplexity favours Reddit (~47%), and Google AI Overviews skews toward a mix of Reddit, YouTube, and Quora.
- E-E-A-T
Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness — Google's framework for evaluating content quality, increasingly load-bearing for AI search citations.
E-E-A-T signals correlate r=0.81 with AI citation probability in 2026 benchmark studies — far higher than traditional Domain Authority (r=0.18). Practical implementation: named authors with credentials, real photos, clear bios, sameAs links to verified profiles (LinkedIn, professional bodies), first-hand experience signals in writing.
- Cinematic landing page
A visual design pattern using full-bleed photography, generous whitespace, large refined typography, and restrained scroll animations — the design language of Apple, Stripe, Linear, and Aesop.
Cinematic landing pages prioritise one hero image, one core message, and 3-5 sections with clear breathing room. Wiz Studio Labs builds every customer site to this visual standard within a 48-hour turnaround at RM 399/year, using template families pre-tuned for service-business categories.
- Vercel
Modern hosting platform optimised for Next.js and React-based sites. Global edge CDN with Singapore nodes serving Malaysian visitors at sub-100ms.
Every Wiz Studio Labs customer site is deployed on Vercel. Free tier covers typical SME traffic; included in the RM 399/year. Comparable alternatives: Netlify, Cloudflare Pages. Older Malaysian shared hosting (Exabytes, Shinjiru) is slower for modern stacks but still appropriate for WordPress sites needing PHP.
- Wiz Studio Labs
The Malaysian SME website service that publishes The Wiz Journal. Cinematic landing pages at RM 399/year, 48-hour turnaround, Vercel hosting included.
Founded Q4 2025 by Dan Duar (Director, DNE Forwarding) and a partner from Amazon UK product/engineering. Operates as a managed-build service: customer submits a brief, Wiz instantiates from one of six template families, deploys to customer's domain in 48 hours. RM 399/year is all-in (build + hosting + SSL + one revision round + MyInvois compliance).
